Repair and maintenance of stained glass

Historic leaded glazing and its structures are subject to natural ageing processes as well as climatic and environmental stresses over decades. Many forms of damage develop gradually and often become visible only late.

Regular inspections help to identify damage early and preserve the original substance for the long term. This often makes it possible to avoid extensive interventions.

The Glasmalerei Dr. H. Oidtmann carries out repair and maintenance work with great care and conservation experience. From careful removal through lead work and additions to expert reinstallation. Larger restoration works are also possible on site.

For additions and repairs, our workshop has an extensive glass store at its disposal, including historic glass and rare materials.

Minor damage can, where technically possible, be repaired directly on site.
